Welcome to the foundational e-learning phase of the Onco-Egypt Project. This 2-month online course is the first step toward transforming cancer care in Egypt by embedding early, integrated palliative care into routine oncology practice. Designed for multidisciplinary teams from Damanhour, Samalot, Meet Ghamr, and Sohag Oncology Centres, this phase covers core competencies essential for every healthcare professional managing patients with advanced cancer. Through structured online modules and live weekly case-based discussions, participants will master pain and symptom management, safe opioid prescribing, effective communication, and interdisciplinary teamwork—all tailored to the realities of the Egyptian health system. This course directly addresses the critical gap in early palliative access and opioid availability, empowering you to move beyond end-of-life-only care and toward patient-centered support from the time of diagnosis.
What makes this training unique? It is not just theoretical—it is a preparatory launch pad for clinical implementation. Over eight mandatory weekly sessions (Tuesdays, 6:00–7:30 PM), you will join live, interactive team meetings via Zoom, with cameras on to foster active engagement. Following the online core teaching, you will have an optional two months of fortnightly case discussions to reinforce real-world application. The aim is to build palliative care champions within your center - ready to lead bedside services, improve opioid access, and help build a scalable, sustainable model of early palliative care integration across Egypt’s cancer network.
